Dr. Weiss is a clinical and health psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.  After receiving her Ph.D. from York University, she was a staff psychologist at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, in the Bariatric Surgery Department and the Respiratory Rehabilitation Unit, before deciding to focus on her private practice full-time in the summer of 2013.  She has held past psychological positions at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, in the CBT for Depression Unit and the Anxiety Disorders Clinic; at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, in the Mood Disorders Unit and the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre; and at the Eating Disorders Unit (both in-patient and out-patient) at the Toronto General Hospital.  Dr. Weiss has published numerous papers in academic journals and has been involved in government-funded research grants. Dr. Weiss has a strong interest in Reproductive Health, particularly in terms of working with people struggling with infertility, prenatal concerns, anxiety over labour and delivery, and postpartum anxiety and depression.  Dr. Weiss also offers supervision to psychotherapists in the community.  Please inquire for more information.

Kimberley Lynn is a psychological associate registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She received her master’s degree and completed the majority of a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from York University.

Kimberley provides psychotherapy and assessment services to adults with a range of difficulties, such as depression, anxiety and worry, postpartum difficulties, relationship issues and psychological trauma. She has extensive training and experience in evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy, including emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and trauma-based approaches. She believes in collaborating with each client to determine the therapeutic approach most suitable to his or her needs and goals. She also works in an empathic and non-judgmental manner to create a safe environment for clients to freely discuss their concerns.Kimberley completed her pre-doctoral internship at London Health Sciences Centre in the Operational Stress Injury Clinic for veterans and military members, as well as in the Cognitive Behavioural and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Units. She has also held psychological positions at North York General Hospital in the Adult Mental Health Unit; Toronto General Hospital in the Eating Disorders Unit; and the York University Psychology Clinic.

Dr. Peltomaa is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She received her doctorate in Applied Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto in 1994 and graduated from the Advanced Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society and Institute in 2005. Dr. Peltomaa interned and trained at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Mental Health Outpatient Clinic; at Toronto Western Hospital, Department of Psychiatry Women’s Clinic; at Toronto East General Hospital, Crisis Unit; at East End Health Services; and at Surrey Place Centre, Children and Youth Division. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship at Women’s College Hospital’s Mental Health Outpatient Clinic, she was on staff for ten years at the Health and Wellness Centre, University of Toronto before moving into private practice.

Dr. Peltomaa uses a contemporary psychodynamic perspective to help alleviate distress and foster growth. This approach actively explores thoughts and feelings in the here-and-now as well as influences of the past in order to understand and address difficulties. Dr. Peltomaa also integrates meditation techniques to facilitate this process. She has a particular interest in working with relational difficulties (with partners, family, friends, co-workers), personality disorders, loneliness, stress, life transitions, anxiety, depression, assertiveness, body satisfaction, and building self-esteem. She offers brief and longer-term psychotherapy for individuals 18 years of age and older.

Dr. Keating is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Keating completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at York University. She has held positions at the Trauma Therapy Program at Women’s College Hospital; the Traumatic Stress Service at the London Health Sciences Centre; the Concurrent Disorders Program, Inpatient Assessment Program, and Inpatient Treatment and Rehabilitation Program at Parkwood Institute; the Eating Disorders Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton; the York University Psychology Clinic; and the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships. She has experience in providing psychological services to clients in areas related to trauma and abuse, eating disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, relationship difficulties, sexuality, sexual concerns, and substance abuse. Her approach is collaborative and relational, and integrates her training in humanistic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, interpersonal reconstructive therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. Her practice is LGBTQ+ positive. Dr. Keating’s research on LGBTQ+ individuals’ experiences of trauma, on women’s recovery from abuse, and on the development and treatment of eating disorder symptoms has been presented at conferences and published in academic journals, and received government-funded awards.

Dr. Robinson completed her Master’s and PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor, in Windsor, Ontario. She has held positions at the Centre for Psychological Services and Research at the University of Ottawa, the Ottawa Institute for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, on the inpatient treatment team at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus, the Borderline Personality Disorder and Emotional Dysregulation program at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare – Tayfour Campus, Dr. Plotnick and Associates accident rehabilitation practice, Ahmad and Associates Neuropsychology Wellness Centre, the Psychological Services and Research Centre at the University of Windsor, the Anxiety and Mood Disorders team at St. Joseph’s Health Care London, and was trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy through the programs offered by Dr. Linehan’s Behavioral Tech. She has experience in providing psychological services to clients in areas related to anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, personality disorders, emotion regulation, relationship difficulties, sexuality, sexual concerns, reproductive health, adjustment difficulties, life transitions, health concerns, and addictive behaviours. Dr. Robinson takes a supportive and relational approach that integrates her training in modern psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, sex therapy, and mindfulness. 

Dr. Weiss is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.  He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at York University.  He holds the Chair in Autism Spectrum Disorders Treatment and Care Research through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), as well as additional operating funds from CIHR and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).  He completed a pre-doctoral internship at Surrey Place Centre (Toronto) and a post-doctoral fellowship in the Dual Diagnosis Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and was a fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.  His research focuses on the prevention and treatment of mental health problems in people with autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disabilities across the lifespan.

Dr. Weiss provides comprehensive psychological assessments for a variety of issues including learning disabilities, giftedness, and autism spectrum disorders.  He is licensed to work with kids, adolescents, and adults, as well as families.

Alexandra Healey is a clinical social worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto with an additional specialization in addiction studies. Prior to joining the practice, Alexandra worked in community mental health settings with a vast range of needs and therapeutic approaches. While her practice approach is integrative and person-centred, tailored to the needs of each unique client, she is most influenced by Emotion-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-based interventions, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion. She has also completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and trauma and attachment principles.

Alexandra holds a deep and unwavering respect for the courage it takes to do the work of growth and healing. She appreciates that it can be intimidating to begin working more consciously with our emotions and long held patterns of behaviour; however, she believes that as we make sense of our inner world there is a true sense of empowerment and strength that can be gained. Alexandra has experience working with clients around concerns such as stress and overwhelm, anxiety, depression/low mood, grief and loss, life transition difficulties (young adults, adjustment to parenthood, retirement) and self-worth/self-criticism difficulties. Alexandra works with youth and young adults 17+, individual adults, as well as providing parent coaching support.

Dr. Hinton is a clinical social worker registered with the OCSWSSW, ACSW & BCCSW governing bodies in Ontario, Alberta & British Columbia respectively. She earned her doctorate from Royal Roads University and her research focus was facilitators to accessing mental health care by serving Canadian military members. Dr. Hinton graduated from the University of Calgary with a Master of Social Work and her clinical research at the Child Abuse Service at the Children’s Hospital in Calgary focussed on resilience despite childhood trauma. Her work as an eating disorder specialist with Alberta Mental Health and therapist with National Defence Mental Health preceded her full-time private practice work.

Dr. Hinton’s approach is collaborative, humanist, experiential and strengths based. Over the past 15 years, she has specialized in working with individuals and couples who have experienced various types of traumas, those diagnosed with eating disorders and people struggling with depression, anxiety, and addiction. Dr. Hinton has also worked with serving and retired Canadian Armed Forces personnel, police, fire, and paramedic first responders for the past 10 years. Her trauma informed focus includes the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy with individuals and couples.

Carly Albaum received her master’s degree in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Weiss as she completes the final stages of her Ph.D. Carly’s Ph.D. work focuses on mental health treatment for youth with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. She is the recipient of a Canadian Institutes of Health Research doctoral award. Carly completed her clinical practica in the Toronto District School Board, where she conducted psychoeducational and diagnostic assessments, and in Child & Family Services at Mackenzie Health Hospital, where she provided psychotherapy for children and adolescents, and their families. Carly has experience providing evidence-based intervention for youth with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning disabilities) who are facing challenges with anxiety, depression, and emotion regulation.

Bailey is currently working under the supervision of Dr. Carmen Weiss as she completes the final stages of her doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) from Memorial University. She earned a master’s degree in neuroscience from King’s College London and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology from Queen’s University. She recently completed her pre-doctoral residency with the Waterloo Region Psychology Consortium and has trained at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, Memorial University Psychology Clinic, Centre for Mental Health and Research, and the Integrated Mood and Anxiety Program at Homewood Health. She has experience providing both psychotherapy and assessment services to adults in areas related to depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship difficulties, insomnia, emotion regulation, and life stressors. Bailey uses an integrative approach and strives to provide her clients with individualized treatment by incorporating techniques from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to meet their unique goals and needs.

Laurina (she/her) is working under the supervision of Dr. Carmen Weiss as she works toward completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at Medaille College. Laurina is registered with the Canadian Psychological Association and her treatment approach is grounded in person-first, trauma-informed care, anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice, and is LGBTQIA2S+ positive. Laurina has provided brief solution-focused care in crisis settings with adults and has experience working with trauma, acute stress, anxiety, depression, emotion regulation challenges, substance use, and relational difficulties. Laurina integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion focused therapy and dialectical behavior therapy into an individualized treatment approach designed to meet the needs of a person seeking support.
