Victoria Chan, Ph.D., C.Psych. (Supervised Practice)
Dr. Chan completed her Ph.D. in Clinical-Developmental Psychology at York University, while also earning a graduate diploma in Health Psychology. She completed her residency at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, and gained further training through placements at Markham Stouffville Hospital, York Catholic District School Board, and private practice settings.
Under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Weiss, Dr. Chan provides evidence-based therapy for children, youth, and parents to meet the needs of youth with a range of presenting problems (e.g., anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, depression, emotion dysregulation). Using a strengths-based, client- and family-centered approach, she uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also has extensive experience working with youth who have neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism, intellectual disability, learning disability, ADHD), and those with chronic medical conditions (e.g., neuromuscular conditions, diabetes, persistent pain). In addition, Dr. Chan has published several journal articles, and her Masters and doctoral research on the emotion regulation and mental health of autistic children and their families has garnered numerous awards and scholarships.
