Dr. Catherine Leite, Ph.D., C.Psych.

Dr. Leite is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed
her graduate training at the University of Western Ontario. She has worked with clients in a range of
settings that include hospital inpatient and outpatient units, university counselling centers, and private
practice settings. Dr. Leite provides assessment and psychotherapy services with adults. She works with
individuals with a range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties,
trauma, loss, and grief. Dr. Leite works with clients who are struggling with current stressors, as well as
difficulties relating to their early experiences, such as early trauma. She helps clients to understand
their difficulties and their ways of responding and coping. With this understanding, she helps clients
with their distressing feelings and thoughts relating to their experiences and helps clients to become
aware of other ways of coping with their distressing experiences. In these regards, she works with
clients to help them to improve their emotional distress, relationships, and sense of themselves. Dr.
Leite’s theoretical orientation is psychodynamic, particularly attachment based, and she may integrate
aspects of other approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and
mindfulness, as may be helpful for a client.
